Paul Standish, RRP, Founder of Brain Injury Rehab Toronto

Paul Standish, RRP · Case Manager / Director

"Curiosity is the Key, to Unlock Life's Mysteries."

I worked as a Case Manager & Vocational Rehab Specialist from 1991 to 2002 with (NRC) Neuro-Rehab Consultants Feldman & Associates. In 2002, I started my business, Brain Injury Rehabilitation.Ca — as a Regulated Rehab Professional (RRP), I possess the skill set to address your rehab needs.

As an RRP, I have two main jobs: I co-ordinate & advocate. I coordinate the introduction of necessary rehabilitation therapy services and goods, and I advocate for your medical/rehab needs with your insurer, family doctor, specialists, lawyer, rehab team, and community professionals.

I don't judge a book by its cover. I want to learn about who you are as a whole person, not just how you "present" with injuries or circumstances. Together, through empathy, communication, knowledge & understanding, I'll help you find your best Pathway to Progress, until your case settles.

Boutique Rehab Company

A settlement can take years. We're built for that.

Myself and my team of therapists work effectively in unison — with you and each other — in part because of our expertise & experience and time spent working together. By focusing on a fewer total number of clients, we ensure the highest level of service to you.

Typically, my clients end the rehabilitation process when a Settlement Agreement has been reached between their lawyer & the auto insurer. This can take between 2 to 5 years on average — I have worked with clients whose cases took as long as 11 & 13 years to settle. I've been referred to as a kind of "Rehab Sherpa" whose job is to ensure your safety and return you to improved health & wellbeing.

What clients & colleagues say.

I cannot recommend Paul Standish enough. After my brain injury, I was overwhelmed, frustrated, and unsure if I would ever regain my cognitive abilities. From our very first session, Paul made me feel supported, understood, and hopeful. He is a beacon of hope for anyone navigating the difficult journey of brain injury recovery.

Emmanuel B.

He was the only one who believed in me when no one else did. He's my advocate, ensuring my best interests. He ensured that the services outlined in the clinical pathways were provided, coordinated the clinical multidisciplinary team, and helped me understand and overcome my fear.

DT, a Physical Therapist

He is an exemplary role model for all case workers. His dedication to patients and his desire to improve patient care is outstanding. He goes well beyond standard of care to ensure information is properly discussed and disseminated to the full care team.

Dr Shree Bhalerao, Staff Psychiatrist, St Michael's Hospital

You are a person with a heart, not only performing your sole task as a case manager, but going beyond the limits. You are really worthy to be emulated and admired for the services of an enthusiastic and concerned case manager.

Maria Ana T.

Paul Standish has selflessly helped me more than anyone else since my accident in 2016. He picked me up from the hospital and literally saved me from the streets, paid my first & last month's rent, and spent months finding me a new lawyer. You're my true hero!

"David" Celal Apo Ciyayi

Paul brought deep knowledge, structure, and consistent support to my rehabilitation plan. His approach was both professional and genuinely compassionate. I am grateful for the role he played in my rehabilitation and the positive impact he had on me.

Basil Chinenye

My experience with this rehabilitation team has been outstanding. The occupational therapy services began with a very thorough assessment, and the therapist created a personalized plan that truly supported my needs at home and in the community.

Farheen Khan

Great and professional services, fantastic bedside manners in time of need. They helped me a lot. While Paul & team were great advocates, you need a trusted family member as well to help ensure your best interests are fully represented.
